College of Physicians and Mutter Museum Wedding with Croquembouche
What’s cool about having the College of Physicians building as your wedding venue? Guests were able to tour the Mütter Museum during the wedding! It also enabled us to snap some pretty sweet photos. Check out this awesome wedding with Joanne and Justin!
That cake at the end, it’s a traditional croquembouche cake cutting with a fricken sword! It’s a French thing.
What is a croquembouche?
“A croquembouche or “piece montee” is a wedding cake made from filled choux buns held together with caramel in an impressive pyramid… Traditionally, the top of the croquembouche would be hit with a sword, silver mallet or even a champagne bottle, cracking the top off while the bridesmaids hold up the corners of the table cloth to catch the pieces. The croquembouche is then taken away to be broken up, or left for guests to help themselves!” – Wedding Cakes UK
