How a Couples Boudoir Photoshoot and The World of BDSM Transformed Catherine’s Love Life After Loss

When our long-time client, Catherine’s, husband passed away, she couldn’t imagine ever being in another relationship, and she certainly didn’t envision that the one she would end up in would lead her to the world of BDSM.

“As a new widow, I was afraid to try for love again. I kept telling myself that I would never find anything better than what I had,” said Catherine.

Over time though, Catherine realized that she didn’t want or need something “better,” than what she had with her husband, rather she was looking for something different.

That’s when she met Glenn.

“I wasn’t quite sure what I was looking for. Our relationship just started as dating, no real intention of going too far with it, and I certainly didn’t expect it to turn into a BDSM style relationship.”

She continued, “Then I met Glenn, and together we explored the world of BDSM and found a new way to love, new passion, and an optimism about the future that I never thought I would have after losing my soul mate.”

It was a combination of losing her husband and finding a new way to learn to love that led her to her new “YOLO” attitude and ultimately towards doing a Couples, BDSM style session in the studio with us.

“Life is too short to say ‘some day.’ The photo shoot we did with Mike and his team was a way to demonstrate that on camera, and we were more just curious to see what it would look like from the outside. Glenn was very nervous because he had never done a professional photo shoot like that before, and I was comfortable just because I done it before, but I was also nervous about how it would look from the outside.”

Glenn and Catherine loved seeing their relationship in a new light, from an outsider’s perspective, and Catherine said it felt exhilarating to get dressed up and be seduced in front of the camera. Best of all, she said, the session really brought to light a lot of their feelings for each other and about their relationship that they had been too afraid to discuss before.

“I feel like the photo shoot did bring us closer. Up to that day, we had never really seen each other as boyfriend and girlfriend, and we had never said I love you to each other. He is polyamorous, and has a partner who lives with him full-time. And I was always hesitant to say I love you because I had never said it to another man and over 20 years. But the shoot brought it out and both of us and I feel like it enhanced our relationship.”
