Since Sarah and Scott met 10 years ago while playing an online world domination game, it’s only fitting to say the couple has celebrated a decade of domination together!
“We have been married for four short years but our 10 years together, since meeting on the Evony game, have been what we both refer to as a Decade of Domination as we continue our quest to ‘take over the world’ in real life,” says Sarah.
Their relationship began as just casual conversation while playing Evony, a multiplayer online game set in the European medieval time period. They chatted mostly about gameplay at first, but soon their conversation grew more personal. For the first four months, Sarah and Scott felt a strong connection without even knowing what one another looked like!
“Since it was online we had never seen each other so our attraction was based on communication alone. After about four months we agreed to exchange pics and neither of us were disappointed,” Sarah explained.
Scott lived in Virginia Beach and Sarah lived in Pennsylvania so the two soon began a long distance relationship as their relationship began to blossom.
“After a year of spending periodic weekends together, we decided this was the relationship we had always been looking for and agreed to become exclusive and pursue a long distance relationship until one of us could relocate,” Sarah says.
It was challenging because they both had small children (Sarah has two girls from a previous relationship and Scott has a son) but despite the difficulties they made it through three years until Scott could relocate to Pennsylvania in 2014. Scott proposed to Sarah and the two were married in September 2016.
“Since that first year that we met we have always had a very adventurous relationship. We have been to many places and experienced many wonderful things together. It seems like every challenge gets accepted and we are both very competitive so it can sometimes be super interesting but it is always exciting and memorable,” Sarah says.
Keeping that adventurous relationship in mind, as the couple’s anniversary began to creep up, Sarah discovered Allebach Photography and thought a couple’s photo session would make an exciting anniversary gift to one another.
“Since our anniversary was in September I suggested to Scott that we should look into a couple’s photo shoot and asked for his feedback. He agreed that it could be fun so we decided to schedule a time and dedicate it to each other as an anniversary gift.”
The drive to the studio brought on much excitement and anticipation for the two of them, and “the actual shoot was also exciting, passionate, and adventurous.”
Sarah brought a couple of different outfits, but nothing “too crazy or outlandish” as that’s not their style. They went for “moderately conservative” while being “very open to suggestions and direction.”
While they may be an outgoing couple, Sarah admits she did have some nerves before the session.
“I think I was more nervous about the shoot than he was but it turned out to be a perfect day and we both had a great time. They say time flies when you’re having fun…well, the three hours went by so fast and we felt extremely comfortable and very relaxed the entire time,” she says.
It’s hard to say which part of the day was their favorite, from the beautiful drive to the studio, to the shoot itself, to the final reveal of their photos, Sarah says the entire experience made for one of their favorite memories of their relationship.
“In the end, I feel that this session was a benefit to our relationship. While experiencing the shoot and reviewing the pics afterwards it definitely sparked a fire within our relationship. Not that we ever had any issues romantically but the passion has risen to the point that it feels like we are a new couple again. The review and selection of the pics was awesome and inspiring because I don’t think we consider ourselves daily to be as romantic and engaged as was captured in the pictures. That was very refreshing. This experience has been wonderful and my husband and I will always cherish these memories.”
After their session with us, we can say with confidence that Sarah and Scott are ready to dominate their next 10 years just as well as their first!
