Jen recently came into the studio as a gift to herself for her 32nd<\/sup> birthday but for her it was so much more than a \u201ctreat yo\u2019self\u201d day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"My<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI did the session on my birthday as a present to myself. The past few years have been full of lots of ups and downs for me, but I’m in the best physical shape of my life and have a job I love, and I thought I should celebrate that by reminding myself that on top of all that, I’m also still sexy!\u201d Jen shares with us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Bucks<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

For the past nine months Jen has worked hard on her health and fitness and so her session was a way to celebrate her fitness goals in addition to some much needed self-care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Montgomery<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI started working out a ton and can see the changes after nine months of a consistent routine: my legs got some muscle, I can run faster and for longer and I can lift much heavier weights. I love these changes! They make me feel strong and good about myself. I’ve had an endless roller coaster with the ups and downs of graduate school, which has been really tough on me mentally, but I’m getting so close to the finish line,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Chester<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Jen says she was surprised that her photos showed her to be proud of parts of her body she never even considered to be her strong suits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was surprised that I loved almost every butt shot Erika took of me. My favorite body parts have always been my legs and my hair, and honestly I never really thought that much about my butt! Those photos felt like \u2018me\u2019 but also looked really sexy, so I think what Erika was able to capture in those poses really highlighted a part of me I didn’t even know I liked (I never hated my butt, just didn’t really think about it). This year I’ve been diving hard into working out and getting in shape (for my physical and mental health), and these photos really highlighted my progress. I felt sexy, I felt empowered, and I felt proud of myself for putting in the hard work to get what I learned was a pretty good-looking butt!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"New<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Of all of her photos, Jen says some of her favorites were ones that not only show off some of her best assets, but incorporated themes that define her as a person through her interests and hobbies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Best<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cErika had me pose near some plants by a sunny window in lingerie that had bits of green, blue, and gold running through it (we called it my peacock outfit – you’ll see why when you see the photos!). That was my favorite location to shoot and I loved all the photos from it. I think it’s a combination of the outfit (I love that lingerie set and feel great in it), the amazing natural light, the pose (Erika is amazing), and the plants. Plants are my passion, my hobby, and my job. I study plants as part of my career, I love gardening, and my house is full of over 40 potted plants. I think these images really felt like me because I was photographed in my natural habitat – a green, photosynthetic, sunny wonderland!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Black<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Jen also has a background in art, and so in addition to being a fan of all the greenery, she also really admired the colors and textures used in our studio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Sexy<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was immediately taken in by the rich colors of the furniture and the great textures like natural wood and velvet. It really got me excited to pose on the furniture knowing I’d have this rich background that helped to set the mood and tone for the photos. I also liked how we moved around to different parts of the studio during my session. It felt like transitioning between different parts of a story – from the sunlight-filled part of the studio, which was bright and had a more playful, carefree vibe, to the darker portions with burgundy velvet bedspreads, mirrors, and dimmer lighting, giving off darker and more seductive vibes. Setting that tone helped me to get more in the moment for my session, and as a shy person who has no idea how to make a sexy facial expression, I needed that!\u201d says Jen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Sexy<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Jen came away from her session feeling empowered and reflecting a lot on herself and her own capabilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs I get further into my 30s, I’m starting to realize that I’m not an indestructible 20-something anymore, but I still have a lot of life left to live and a lot of energy to carry forward. Yeah, I may get a gray hair here and there or sleep funny and ruin my neck for an entire day – things that never used to happen! – but I am still strong, sexy, and capable. I went into my session with that idea in mind, and Erika and Mike absolutely confirmed those thoughts. Thank you for an amazing birthday experience!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
