I am 50, my only piercings are my ears, so I\u2019m probably a little bit vanilla compared to most of the women he sees,\u201d says the former Catholic school teacher and principal from Blue Bell, Pa. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-4467 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_2860-8_0x12_0-30-A-Q01-867x1300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"787\" srcset=\"https:\/\/allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_2860-8_0x12_0-30-A-Q01-867x1300.jpg 867w, https:\/\/allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_2860-8_0x12_0-30-A-Q01-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_2860-8_0x12_0-30-A-Q01-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_2860-8_0x12_0-30-A-Q01-1200x1800.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yet, Kristen decided she wanted to do a boudoir session following her divorce and a negative sexual experience with another man she thought she trusted. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMy confidence was not great, to say the least. I was ashamed of my body and went further into hiding as I doubted my ability to make good choices or avoid the consequences of looking good, being sexually active and my perceived inability to discern who I could be safe and vulnerable with,\u201d Kristen says. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite being the same size she was in high school (size zero to two), she lacked a lot of self-confidence in general, much less in front of a camera, but saw a solo boudoir session as an opportunity to regain her sense of self. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4474 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_3259-8_0x12_0-37-A-Q01-867x1300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"385\" height=\"578\" srcset=\"https:\/\/allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_3259-8_0x12_0-37-A-Q01-867x1300.jpg 867w, https:\/\/allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_3259-8_0x12_0-37-A-Q01-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_3259-8_0x12_0-37-A-Q01-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_3259-8_0x12_0-37-A-Q01-1200x1800.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 385px) 100vw, 385px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If Kristen was going to do a boudoir session, she needed to know she had the right photographer, one she felt comfortable in front of and whom she could trust. When she saw Mike\u2019s work on Instagram, she stopped. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe more I saw, the more I recognized how body positive and judgment-free Mike\u2019s work really is,\u201d said Kristen. Seeing all of the different shapes, sizes, and ages of women really helped, she added. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHis work speaks for itself, but for me, it was much more than that. I started to think, \u2018hmm\u2026maybe I can do a solo boudoir shoot with this guy \u2013 be vulnerable in a non-sexual situation and see myself the way he shoots other women so beautifully,\u2019\u201d she said. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMaybe it\u2019s a way to move forward,\u201d she added.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-4480 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_3405-8_0x12_0-43-A-Q01-1800x1200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_3405-8_0x12_0-43-A-Q01-1800x1200.jpg 1800w, https:\/\/allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_3405-8_0x12_0-43-A-Q01-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_3405-8_0x12_0-43-A-Q01-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/allebachphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/D85_3405-8_0x12_0-43-A-Q01-1200x800.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The idea of being vulnerable in a non-sexual situation was huge for her and a concern that gradually lessened during her shoot. Kristen started off in a full dress and by the end of the session, she was doing bodyscaping with nothing on with absolutely zero pressure or discomfort. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI found my session to be SO empowering,\u201d says Kristen. \u201cI stared into his lens at first as an enemy that was challenging me but later with a less combative feeling. It was affirming to see my pictures look so beautiful and strong. I LOVED seeing my pics and choosing the ones I would keep.
